Every year, the number of such talented youngsters keeps increasing, and they continue to make the country proud. Obviously, you can’t follow all of them at once or instantly understand their full potential, and that’s completely normal.

Ayush Mhatre

Born in 2007, this young gentleman has already achieved remarkable things. He made his debut for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and has impressed with his fearless approach. Hailing from Mumbai, he has honed his game in his hometown and now stands out as one of India’s promising prospects.

Ayush is a right-handed batsman known for his aggressive style, he attacks from the start and put pressure on bowlers.

Here are some of his stats: in List A cricket he scored 458 runs in 7 matches at an average of 65.42 and a strike rate of around 135.50.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Born in 2011 in the village of Tajpur, Bihar, this young gentleman has already done some crazy stuff. He signed for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and made his debut at just 14 years old. Living in Samastipur, Bihar, he cut his teeth on the local maidan and worked hard with family support before stepping into the big-leagues. He is a left-hand batsman with an aggressive style — fearless, attacking and always looking to dominate.

Here are some stats: in the 2024-25 U19 youth Test he scored 104 off just 62 balls. And in the IPL, he struck a century in 38 balls.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi

This guy has broken some serious records. On his debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season he smashed 54 off just 27 balls, becoming the youngest player ever to score a half-century on IPL debut.

Born on June 5, 2004, in Delhi, he moved to Mumbai at age 11 to pursue cricket.

He is a right-hand batsman (and sometimes bowls slow left-arm orthodox) for Mumbai and KKR.

What makes him special:

• He was India’s highest run-scorer in the U19 World Cup 2022, with 278 runs in six innings.

• In the IPL he’s shown a sharp strike-rate (over 150) already, which signals his ability to go on the attack.

Tilak Varma

Tilak became the first player to score three consecutive T20 hundreds, including an unbeaten 151 off just 67 balls in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which is the highest individual T20 score by an Indian. Born on 8 November 2002, he bats left-handed and bowls off-breaks.

What makes him special: his strike-rate is through the roof (e.g., in T20Is he has scored at around 1000 runs at ~150 SR) and he changes games in a hurry.

Mayank Yadav

Born in June 2002, Mayank Yadav has already sent shock-waves with his pace and wicket-taking ability. He bowls right-arm fast and made his mark with the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.

In his IPL debut he clocked 155.8 km/h and followed that up with 156.7 km/h in the next match. In List A cricket he took 34 wickets at an average of about 21.55. He already has international exposure in T20Is for India.
